Navy Guest Bedroom Inspiration

So last summer, well before we found our new house my husband and I found these awesome prints at a flea market we go to a lot. Here is just an online screen shot of the full series so you can get an idea of what they look like.

As I Open Fire Pics

They are called “As I open Fire” by Roy Lictenstein. When we first saw them I could see my husband was pumped. I mean like he couldn’t talk. They were fully framed and matted and the price was $500. After a couple minutes we walked away, and then I said to my husband, really I feel like 500 for fully matted and framed pictures is a pretty good deal (I mean framing these days is so expensive). He thought they were 500 for 1 not for all 3. He quickly continued googling their value, and the cheapest they were anyone online (unframed) was $500 all the way up to several thousand depending on the printing so I figured we were getting a good deal since they were framed and all. So we went backĀ  (even negotiated down to 400) and brought them home, and ever since I have been decorating a room around them in my head.

I decided I wanted to incorporate a canopy bed into the room as well and I thought something with fabulous navy and white print fabric would be an amazing mix with the prints.

Now for a fully draped canopy bed you need a LOT of fabric so I was pumped when I found this fabric on clearance for $7 a yard. I needed 22 yards so I pounced on it, I mean even $20 a yard adds up when you need more than 20 yards!

bedSo first on my agenda in the new house was to buy the above bed. Heaven! I thought it would be perfect with the prints and the fabric.

Table Runner Fabric!

So I found the fabric I decided to use for my table runner I am making. I originally posted about it here. I was going to just do Navy/white and found a couple on Spoonflower. However I waited too long and ran out of time to get it before I need it done. So JoAnne Fabrics came thru for me.

Do you like it? I love the floral and how it splashes in a bit of green. I might also use it for some pillows with the left over I have.

Happy Monday!

Navy Blue Table Inspiration

Since I finished my classes for my MBA a month ago now, I have begun thinking of what I would like to do for my dinner after my ceremony in May. With how fast the days are going it will be here before you know it! I have decided I wanted to do a navy and white table at my parents house and we will be making dinner. Here is some of my inspiration….

And lastly I love this Aerin Lauder table from last summer. I love the printed and the simple flowers she used.

I have been looking up different fabrics to use and I am leaning toward these ones….the bottom one is my fav. You can find all of them from spoonflower! What do you think?

Spoonflower: Lindsay Cowles

I am obsessed with Lindsay Cowles prints. They are so fun and edgy. I love her wallpaper, my sister and I hope to use it in a clients bedroom we are working on now. But today when I was playing around on spoonflower I found that she has some of her prints available in fabric too! These are my favorite for accent pillows! Check them out here!

Fun Floral Fabric!

Hello All: Happy Monday. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

This weekend was especially fun for me because I tried on wedding dresses! My family and friends came with and I tried on what seems like a thousand dresses. In the end I think I have picked which I am going to get, and as usual it is nothing of what I imagined. You will all have to wait to see it until June!

Anyway besides that fun I also found this heavenly fabric at a local fabric store. But it was $100 a yard! Now I loved the print but that cost was rather high so I figured I would search the web and sure enough I found it for $10 a yard! Can you believeĀ there would be that big of a discrepancy! I am wondering if there is a huge quality difference? Anyway at that cheap price I ordered a yard to see if the fabric is good enough for some bed pillows. I sure hope so otherwise I might have to splurge at the local shop because I love the print so much. They are only decorative pillows so not sure if they need to be a really high quality.

What do you think? Love it or hate it?
