Christmas dinner preperation

I have been so busy this week at work I haven’t even had time to show you all the fun I had last weekend. I wanted to prep for our holiday table with flowers and making a table overlay. I wanted to mix poinsettia’s in with red roses for my table. I haven’t always been a red person but lately I have been loving it! I wasn’t sure how the poinsettia blossoms would hold up…after a week I would say they are ok….some of the blossoms look better than others. Next year I might have to mix in something else. Or just make it closer in. The red roses hold up well but the others have faded a bit. I wanted to make the arrangement a bit out because I wanted to enjoy them for as long as possible since we go away to our families for the holidays.

I also made this table overlay last weekend. Just added pom poms to the edges – pom pom’s make everything better!

Can’t wait to see how it all looks for our Holiday dinner this weekend! I will share more next week!

Milwaukee: Black Sheep Bar

Friday night I checked out the new bar/restaurant on 2nd street Black Sheep. Food was good, happy hour was good, and the decor was heaven! Love the long bar all the way to the back, the rustic high top tables and the bar stools. If you live in the area you should check it out!

Garage Doors in Houses

Last week I was in New York for work all week. My favorite restaurant we visited was Barbuto in the meat packing district. The food was amazing and I loved the decor. Two full walls of the restaurant had big garage doors. I imagine in the summer it would be a great spot to eat!

Isn’t it so cool?

Wouldn’t it be cool to do in your house? For a property with a view it would be perfect!

(wall) paper wednesday: gift wrap!

I am in full swing for Christmas shopping. I will be traveling for work the first 2 weeks of December which is certainly not ideal. So I am trying to get ahead of it so I don’t get overwhelmed at the end. I already have my eye on these wrapping papers for under my tree. I traditionally do silvers and golds but I love all these updated prints below!! The plaid is my favorite!
