Early Thanksgiving Table

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting some friends for a dinner. We had a great time and I had almost as much fun setting the table. I wanted to do something different. I was inspired by the latest issue of Southern Living Magazine (if you haven’t seen it….what are you waiting for). They showed several floral options that incorporated fruits. Which I thought was so fun.

I decided to give it a whirl. First I used a vintage soup tourine that I got for a wedding shower gift.

TNPLH: Fall Dinner Part 2

I went to a local grocery store and got all kinds of fun greens, flowers, kale, and pears! I started with floral foam in the bottom of the tourine and took pine bows to the edges to start drapping over.

Then I just kept adding different textures together and I think it turned out pretty fun!

I also mixed wedding china, grandma china, kate spade dot wine glasses, waterford water goblets, and my fun flea market candelabra set.

I wanted so much variety in the arrangment that I ended up having some extra flowers….

So I made a second arrangement for an end table….For this one I used a cake platter. I like how this one draped too!

ORC: There’s No Place Like Home Navy Bedroom

So in the last week we have been working on a lot of little finishing details, but feels like we didn’t get much done. Don’t you  hate that?

I still can’t decide on the yellow vs the white console. Part of me now wishes we had time for me to paint the buffet navy with a white stripe. Oh well. That might have to be saved for a later project.

We’ve been spraying away….

So excited about our little Ikea Sconces inspired by Shine Your Light. She changed up the lamp shade a bit but for our aesthetic I thought the more traditional white fit in just fine.

Good luck to everyone in the final weeks! Make sure to link up with everyone else here!

Design Crush: McGrath II

Decisions, Decisions…

So I have had a lot of little touches start to happen at the house as of late.

new craigslist chairs

The living room is looking a little cozier, after I found two of these amazing chairs on craigslist ($40 each whoop whoop). I need to finalize a fabric and ship them off to my upholsterer to breathe new life into them!

This fabric is in the running……

I also keep ordering a bunch of wallpaper samples for my bathroom…..I am liking the top middle one the best. Which one do you like?
