Wedding Wednesday: Bow Ties

So I am in love with bow ties and I want to have all the boys wear them for our wedding, however I am having a really hard time finding ones I like. I am picturing chuck bass style bow ties. Corky, bright, print mixing heaven.

Since I can’t seem to find what I like (in my price range) my sister is going to experiment with sewing one so we could pick whatever fabric we would like. Here are some fabrics I have found…

We will have to wait and see if she has success!

New Project: Reupholstering Bucket Chairs

This weekend I had some time to start working on my next project. 2 bucket chairs for my friend Mary. I found them on craigs list a while back for $30.

Didn’t take long to take them apart, for the most part. However I think these ones will be a bit tricky.

Do you see the little slot in the wood above (some of the fabric is still hanging out)? My last chair did not have this and all the fabric was stapled into this little space. Could be tricky….stay tuned to see how I do! If you have any advice with how to a. get the fabric out or b. how to reupholster let me know!

Happy Monday

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I got a lot done! Homework, stripping a chair, and a macaroon class at Sur la Table. It was my first cooking class there and I had a great time. The macaroons didn’t have perfect consistency but they were delicious and I learned a lot of tips to hopefully begin perfecting them. Can’t wait to test them all out again!

Sunday was  a perfect winter day. Went for a run, and in the afternoon while the snow was falling I slow cooked some ribs in the oven! Yum! And my blossoming paperwhites were a perfect winter contradition – they are looking lovley!
