Latley….

I have been MIA in the last month. I do have some good excuses. I FINALLY finished my MBA about 2 weeks ago. I was running around finishing my thesis paper and I couldn’t be happier to be done. Right after that I traveled to NYC for work, and then we had a wedding in the family. For which I did the flowers. So things finally seem to be settling down around here and I am excited to have some time once again to catch up on blogging.

Here are just a couple snap shots of everything going on around here….I hope to share more pictures of the flowers later, when I get a hold of them! The Flower pictures are taken by my very talented sister in law – check out her web cite.

Wedding Wednesday: Flowers Inspiration for a friend

I am in my friends wedding this coming May and when she asked me to do my flowers I was ecstatic! I had so much fun doing my own I can’t wait for another opportunity!

I thought I would drum up some inspiration for her. Her main flower will be succulents but we can’t decide to go more nuetral pallet (whites and greens) or if we should put some color in with pinks and soft tones.

Wedding Wednesday: Baby’s Breath

My good friend is getting married next May and I am going to do her flowers. She wants succulents which I posted on here, however she would also like to potentially mix in babysbreath for the tables. Which I think would be so pretty! What do you guys think?

Now that my wedding is all over it is time to start helping my good friend Mary. And Succulents are on her mind. I thought I would drum up a bit of inspiration for her. Can’t wait to help with flowers again!

Wedding Wednesday: DIY Wedding Flowers!!!

Happy Wednesday! Today I am excited to show you some more wedding pics. My Flowers! So I did my flowers myself with my trusty bridesmaids and mom. They turned out amazing and were one of my favorite parts of my wedding. I loved making the bouquets and I loved the way they turned out. I decided to do my own flowers because I wanted as many as possible. I wanted vases that were brimming with roses and peonies. I had 65 dozen flowers that showed up the Tuesday before my wedding day which was a Friday. I ordered them from Wholeblossoms.com and they were perfect!

First things first we got boxes and boxes of flowers and got them into buckets with floral food immediately.

I was in heaven with every inch of my condo filled with buckets of flowers!

Thursday morning I couldn’t sleep and we started the flowers at 5AM. We were done by 10AM – not too bad!

For the big fish bowl we used floral foam since the vase had such a big “mouth.” Floral foam works great to keep flowers in place and to keep them lasting longer!

For the vases with smaller openings we just did them normal – no foam.

The hand bouquets were done very carefully. We found that using a tall vase was the best way to go. We did a normal bouquet in a vase then when it looked just right just lifted up all the flowers, wrapped with wire, floral tape, and then ribbon!

They were all so great I couldn’t decide which was my favorite.

It was such a great way to build excitement for the wedding. And I was so pleased with the way they turned out! Can’t wait to show you pictures of the hall when I get my photographers photos back!
