2 things I am loving right now? Breakfast Settees and painted floors. I am debating whether or not I have enough room in my condo for a settee at my table. To me they create such a cozy welcoming environment.
I am also loving painted floors. So beautiful! It could be my obsession to make anything and everything printed….Do you have the courage to paint your floors?
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was good – but busy!
Friday night Chris and I went out for our anniversary (we met on St Patty’s day) to Harbor House. One of my favorite restaurants in the city. It certainly has the best view. I got my normal cucumber martini – delish! and I got scallops and filet. Saturday was a wedding day. We picked out our suits and we went to the jeweler to pick out our bands! So excited. We are getting closer!
Then I was playing on pinterest and I found this print. Isn’t it heaven! I love it!
Do you like it? The only tricky part will be finding a spot in the house for it…
My sister is here today to share us with a fun new cocktail recipe! Enjoy!
About eight months ago, overwhelmed with finalizing wedding plans, buying an old home to fix up, and life in general, I decided I wasn’t seeing my friends enough. Determined to have more face time, I instigated Wine Wednesday. Each Wednesday we get together, have a few cocktails and just hang out, no boys allowed. This past week, I wanted to mix it up and try something fun! So I made Cosmos.
My prep for the cosmo’s started Tuesday evening. I measured out the cranberry and lime juice, poured them into each class, and then put them in the freezer at an angle.
Some say a spare freezer is for meat. Nonsense! I say its for Cosmo starters!
Then on Wednesday, when my girls came over all I had to do was mix the vodka and Cointreau and throw in a lime slice.
First start with all the fixin’s!
Serving on a silver platter. Now that’s a must!
And Enjoy!
Now. If I were to do this again, here is what I would do differently. First. When freezing the cranberry juice, I would only freeze HALF the recommended amount. Second. When mixing the vodka and Cointreau, I would then mix the other half of cranberry juice. In order to keep it visually appealing, I would use red cranberry juice for what is frozen and white cranberry juice for the “top off”.That way it won’t be all vodka when you take that first sip!
Happy Wednesday: loving these green prints to continue getting us pumped for St Patty’s! A couple of the bottom ones are from Home Depot. They are actually getting a rather nice assortment of wallpaper – as is Lowes….check it out.
Continueing in the shame rock spirit here are some amazing bold shades of green. The green laquered kitchen is my favorite – not sure if I could ever do it though! Are you brave enough for it?
Happy St Patricks day week! I have always loved St Patty’s day, my grandmother used to have us over and every detail of the evening was green. Home made place mats, matching napkins, st patty’s day napkin rings, everything you could possibly think of in green. I like it even more now since I met my fiance on this day!
Here are my favorite shades of green to help you deocrate for your St Patty’s celebrations!
