Current House Project: Iron Horse Comic Painting

So I bought my condo when I was single and I figured this is the only time I can decorate exactly how I want. So it ended up pretty girly. Chris doesn’t mind most of it but he does have a problem with my ballerina paintings :). So I commissioned him to make me a vintage comic painting to replace them. I was inspired by the Iron Horse Hotel Bar here in town. If you are ever in Milwaukee you should for sure check it out. It is on of my favorite spots (we also had out rehearsal dinner there). It is decorated to die for. I did a round up of the hotel here.

Anyway in the bar there are these amazing comic paintings done by a local artist. I LOVE them. Chris happens to be a fine art undergrad (now he works in multi media/film). So I figured he could make me one!

Iron Horse Hotel

We finally picked up a canvas this weekend to start working on it! So we had to go back to the Iron Horse for a drink and appetizer to gauk at the more 🙂

What do you think? Less girly?

Weekend Update

Happy Monday everyone. I had a very fun weekend. Friday night we went out for dinner and celebrated Chris’s 30th Birthday. Saturday we had a wedding.

Happy Monday

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Saturday a group of friends and I went on a neighborhood bike ride hitting up our favorite restaurants. And Sunday I spent the day making some comfort food – chili, cake, and banana bread. Yum!

Have a great Monday!

Don’t you love fresh flowers in the house?

Summer Nights!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! It has been HOT here! I feel like I have been so busy so far this summer I haven’t had anytime to just relax and enjoy Milwaukee. Saturday night Chris and I had a little date night. We went to the Iron Horse Hotel here in town and sat out on their outdoor patio and had brick oven pizzas! Yum!

Hope you all had a great weekend and are pumped for the 4th this week!

Rumpus Room

Happy Friday! I can’t wait for the weekend and it is almost here. Last night I had a fun little girls night to help me get through one more work day. My friend Julie surprised me with tickets to a wine and appetizer event at the Public Museum downtown to celebrate the opening of the new Cleopatra exhibit. Then we headed over to the new Bartollata restaurant, Rumpus Room, in Milwaukee to check it out. The atmosphere was so cozy and fun. We had a cheese plate and some appetizers and everything was very delicious. I will have to go back again soon to check out the entree menu.
